Education and Training

Dr. Openshaw is originally from the Southern California area.  He completed his B.A. in psychology at California State University at Fullerton, where he graduated with Highest Honors.  He received his Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University in Indiana.  He is licensed as a psychologist in California, and has been practicing in Fullerton since 1983.  He worked as a Staff Psychologist at St. Jude Medical Center from 1983 to 1990, working with the cardiac, spinal cord injury, and stroke treatment programs.  He also worked throughout the medical center with emergency, general medical and psychiatric programs.   He has provided presentations and programs on a wide variety of topics to groups and organizations in the community.  He is still a member of the Medical Staff at St. Jude Medical Center and has been in full-time private practice since 1990.
